D2 Customs is a luxury car detailing studio based in Terenure, Kempton Park, specialising in luxury car detailing, ceramic coating, paint protection film (PPF) and paint correction for high end and performance vehicles across Johannesburg and. The studio was founded by Damien Pillay and works on one car at a time, by hand, in a climate-controlled bay. Clients either bring their car to the studio or book our mobile detailing unit across the northern suburbs.
Our story
D2 Customs began in 2022 as a one-man operation correcting and protecting performance cars for a small circle of owners around Johannesburg. Word travelled through the Gauteng car community faster than we expected, and what started as weekend work became a full studio on Ossewa St in Terenure.
The philosophy hasn't changed since day one: one car at a time, indoors, by hand. We deliberately keep the diary short so a Ferrari on a multi-stage correction isn't sharing a bay with three queued washes. Every job is documented photographically, and clients leave with a written aftercare protocol rather than a guess.
Today the studio handles ceramic coating, paint protection film, paint correction, window tinting, vinyl wrapping, glass coating and full interior and exterior detailing — plus a mobile unit for clients across Johannesburg's northern suburbs. The team
Damien Pillay
Founder & Lead Detailer
Damien started D2 Customs after years of correcting and protecting friends' performance cars on weekends. He runs every ceramic coating and paint correction job personally — paint depth readings, correction stages and the final inspection all pass through his hands before keys are returned.
Installation Team
Film & Coating Technicians
Our film technicians handle paint protection film, vinyl wrapping and window tinting. Patterns are computer-plotted per model, edges are hand-wrapped where the panel allows, and every install is completed indoors in a dust-managed bay.
Studio & Mobile Crew
Detailing Technicians
The detailing crew covers safe washing, decontamination, interior work and the mobile unit that travels to Sandton, Rosebank, Hyde Park, Bryanston, Fourways, Midrand, Bedfordview, Edenvale and Linbro Park.
