Luxury Car Detailing · Sandton
Luxury Car Detailing in Sandton, Johannesburg.
Sandton is a mobile detailing service area — we come to your CBD office bay, Morningside driveway or estate garage. The workshop itself is in Terenure, Kempton Park, where ceramic, PPF and correction work is done under controlled lighting.
Sandton owners hand us their Porsche GT cars, Ferrari daily drivers, Range Rover SVR fleets and CBD-parked Bentleys. Single-car studio, certified installers, paint-depth readings on every panel before we lift a pad.
Studio drive time from Sandton: 28–34 minutes via the M1 south from the Grayston off-ramp.
The Sandton postcodes we collect from
Regular collection routes cover Sandhurst (Coronation, First and Second Avenues), Hyde Park border streets off Jan Smuts, Atholl (Boundary, Wells and North), Inanda, Morningside Manor, Bryanston East and the CBD towers — Michelangelo, Leonardo, Da Vinci, One-on-Ninth and the Discovery precinct on Rivonia Road.
Enclosed transporter is standard for anything coated, filmed, lowered or over R2m in value — we never put an exotic on an open trailer down the M1.
Why Sandton owners choose D2 Customs
Every Sandton job starts with the same conversation: what does the car actually do? A Rosso Corsa 296 GTB that sits in a Sandhurst basement and comes out for Franschhoek runs needs a completely different protection plan to a Cullinan Black Badge doing school runs from Atholl to Crawford Sandton every morning. We inspect on arrival, take paint-depth readings, agree the scope in writing, then execute — no upsells mid-build. Most Sandton owners land on a bundled protection package combining paint correction, a multi-year ceramic coating and full-front PPF.
The Sandton fleet — what actually rolls in
In a typical month the Sandton logbook runs Porsche 992 GT3, GT3 RS and Turbo S; Ferrari Roma, 296 GTB, SF90 Stradale and 812 Superfast; Lamborghini Urus Performante, Huracán STO and Revuelto; Mercedes-AMG G63, GT Black Series and S63 E Performance; BMW M5 CS, M3 Touring and XM Label Red; Audi RS6 Performance and e-tron GT RS; Bentley Continental GT Speed and Flying Spur Mulliner; Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge and Cullinan Series II; and a rising count of Range Rover SVAutobiography and Defender V8 daily drivers.
The common thread is thin, soft factory clear coat on paints (Rosso Corsa, PTS colours, Nardo Grey, Anthracite Blue) that mark from the wrong mitt alone. Nothing touches a Sandton car before a written correction plan has been signed off.
Why the M1 chip corridor demands PPF
The M1 between Marlboro and Grayston is the single biggest source of stone-chip damage we see on Sandton cars. Trucks feeding the industrial belt around Wynberg and the constant lane resurfacing between the Buccleuch and Corlett off-ramps throw gravel and tar spatter at bonnets, bumpers and headlight lenses on every rush-hour trip.
Front-end XPEL Ultimate Plus — bonnet, full bumper, headlights, mirror caps and A-pillars — is the standard build for any Sandton daily driver. Add a ceramic coating over the film and the rest of the car for chemical and UV protection, and rooftop parking at Sandton City stops etching paint by the end of the first summer.

Recent Sandton builds
Ferrari 296 GTB — Sandhurst, Coronation Road
New car, delivered from the dealer with wash marring and rotary holograms across the front clip. Single-stage paint correction under controlled lighting, then XPEL Ultimate Plus full-front (bonnet, bumper, headlights, A-pillars, mirrors) and a ten-year Innova ceramic over the film and the rest of the car. Six-day turnaround, enclosed collection and return.
Range Rover SVAutobiography — Atholl
Two-year-old daily driver with sap etching from the jacarandas on Boundary Road and chip damage across the bonnet from the daily N1 run to Waterfall. Family fleet — we now maintain three cars from the same household on an annual inspection schedule.
Collection & drop-off
How Sandton drop-off actually works
For maintenance details (single-day work), most Sandton clients drive in themselves — 28 to 34 minutes down the M1 to the Modderfontein/R21 exit, then Ossewa Street in Terenure. Ground-floor parking, coffee, and a shuttle back to the CBD if you can't wait.
For ceramic, PPF or multi-day builds we send enclosed transport to your address — basement pickup where clearance allows, ground-floor porte cochère at the Michelangelo, Leonardo, Da Vinci and Discovery towers where it doesn't. The car is photographed on load and unload, and every panel reading is recorded before work begins.
Frequently asked
Sandton owners ask
- Can you access basement parking at the Michelangelo, Da Vinci or Leonardo Towers?
- Yes. We've collected regularly from all three basements. Height clearance is tight for enclosed transport, so for lowered exotics or transporter collection we ask you to bring the car up to the ground-level porte cochère on Maude Street — we meet you there and load in under three minutes.
- Where do I drop off if I'm coming from a meeting at Sandton City?
- The Terenure studio is a 28-minute run from the West Street entrance of Sandton City via the M1 south and R25. Book a morning slot and we can have a maintenance detail turned around before your afternoon meetings; for full ceramic or PPF work we'll arrange enclosed collection so you don't lose the car for a day of driving.
- Do you handle Nelson Mandela Square rooftop cars that live outdoors?
- Yes — and we recommend a hardened protection plan for anything parked on the NMS or Sandton City rooftop. Highveld UV plus concrete heat radiation cooks single-stage clear coats fast. A ten-year ceramic coating plus front-end PPF is the standard build we quote for these cars.
- How long does a ceramic coating last on a Sandton daily driver?
- Three-, five- and ten-year systems are all warrantied. Sandton cars covering the M1 daily usually settle on the five- or ten-year build because the rooftop-bay UV load at Sandton City and Nelson Mandela Square is more aggressive than most owners realise.
